has worked in the tobacco industry for more than 20 years. His career has included managing the pest control program for RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company, establishing a program built upon sound pest control fundamentals and innovative science and technology. He served as the Global Pest & Hygiene Management Coordinator for 2 years after British American Tobacco acquired Reynolds American in 2018. He also has been a member of the CORESTA Subgroup on Pest and Sanitation Management in Stored Tobacco for 20+ years and served as the Coordinator of the group for 15 years where he was twice awarded CORESTA medals for his industry leadership in overseeing global pest control training, pest control research and establishing standards for the industry.

Vernon has a Master of Science degree in Entomology from North Carolina State University.
